The “Rose Bowl effect” could be evaluated much more rigorously using a panel data set - examine UT’s change in admissions over time compared to other schools’ and include various control variables such as percentage change in tuition, population change in home state, student recruitment budget, etc. THEN we can talk about a Rose Bowl effect
