What a game!
Sunday, November 7th, 2004I just got to watch the biggest ever comeback in the history of Texas football tonight. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera because I took forever to find my tickets. After we tied the score at seven points each Oklahoma State derailed our offense and defense. We suffered a couple of interceptions and poor defensive plays they were up 35-7 with a two minutes to go till half time.
Vince Young led an almost perfect offensive drive up the field to score a touchdown a few seconds before the first half ended. We were down 21 points at the half. No other team had scored more than 21 points against us all season. Surprisingly few people left at half time.
The opening drive in the third quarter set the tone for the rest of the game. Our drives always ended with touchdowns and they were held to three-and-outs. The same defense that couldn’t stop stop their running game in the first half was stifling them in the second. By the time Benson ran for the fourth touchdown to bring to score up to 28-35 the crowd knew we had the win in our hands.
The two rows behind us literally fell down when Ramonce Taylor ran for a touchdown and tied the score. I’ve heard the stadium this loud before but not continuously for an entire half. The crowd noise improved the players’ performance a lot and it seemed like they could do nothing wrong.
The fourth quarter produced three more touchdowns and another defensive shutout. The game ended with the score at 56-35. It doesn’t get much better than this. I hope Les Miles learned stuff today.

Quite exciting and interesting. Nothing like watching games live.
