Red River Shutout 2004
Sunday, October 10th, 2004I went to Dallas this weekend for the 99th annual Texas-OU football game. Downtown Dallas and the hotel we stayed in was full of Sooner fans. I had awesome lower-deck seats at the 35 yard line. The 50-50 crowd gave the old Cotton Bowl stadium an atmosphere unlike any other game.
The defense did just about everything right. Derrick Johnson & Co. didn’t let the Sooners score a touchdown for the first three quarters. I don’t know how many other teams can restrict an offense led by Jason White, Adrian Peterson, Kejuan Jones, Mark Clayton etc. to just 12 points. On the other hand the offense blew several scoring opportunities and Texas was shut out for the first time in 24 years. Vince Young and Cedric Benson were mediocre to say the least. Oh well, there’s always next year.
I’ve also uploaded pictures from the trip to Dallas taken with my new camera.
